Crown Copyright
Under Canadian copyright law, the « creators » or « authors » of works
are granted the sole and exclusive right to reproduce, perform or publish
their works. A « Work » can be textual material, photographs, computer
software, audiovisual material, music graphics, news, stories, games, and
even postings to news groups and e-mail. This document includes information
on copyright obligations in Canada, including works produced under the
direction of the Government of Canada.

Sources: A Bibliography
The use of electronic forms of information has become increasingly
necessary. In order to credit electronic information when quoting or
paraphrasing its contents, it is necessary to provide a proper bibliographic
citation that enables readers to identify and obtain the work. Although no
individual style has emerged as the official standard to date, this
bibliography lists numerous sources in a variety of formats that offer
suggestions for citing electronic information.

Management of Government Publications Survey
August 2002
This report presents the findings of the Survey of Management of Government
Publications that was conducted in March and April of 2002 for the Strategic
Policy and Planning Branch, National Library of Canada (NLC) by Consulting
and Audit Canada (CAC). This survey follows an earlier Survey of Management
of Government Information Holdings officials conducted in 1999.
