The following table lists all the Notices of Proposed Amendment (NPA) on the safety management system (SMS), as well as related amendments regarding the accountable executive and the quality assurance program, that have been consulted through the Canadian Aviation Regulation Advisory Council (CARAC).

CARAC provides additional opportunities for exchanging ideas, information and insight with industry in respect of proposed regulations or standards and existing regulations or standards that may require revision or revocation. CARAC activities are in line with and often exceed the Privy Council Office guidelines on Regulatory Policy. In accordance with the CARAC Management Charter and Procedures, enabled by Canadian Aviation Regulation (CAR) 103.01(2), and in following the federal rule-making process, regulations are subject to formal consultation not only at a CARAC meeting, but also in the Canada Gazette. To ensure that all interested stakeholders have an opportunity to comment on regulatory and standards proposals, the CARAC Management Charter and Procedures also provides copies of draft regulations.

In addition to the NPAs, you will also find below a link to the amendments on SMS that have been published in the Canada Gazette.
