In order for you to request a Personal Access Code (PAC) and/or log in and use the Canada Pension Plan "Statement of Contributions" on-line service or the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security "View and Update Personal Information" on-line service, you need to provide us with certain personal information. Since your privacy is important to us, we will confirm your identity by matching the information you submit on the log-in page with information we already have in the Social Insurance Register, our Canada Pension Plan and/or Old Age Security program records.
The collection, use and disclosure of personal information for this service is authorized and regulated by the Canada Pension Plan Act, the Old Age Security Act, and the Employment Insurance Act. In certain limited cases, the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security Acts allow information that is collected to be disclosed without your consent for purposes not outlined in this Privacy Notice Statement.
The information we ask for is required in order for you to request a PAC and/or to log in and view your personal Canada Pension Plan "Statement of Contributions" on line or use the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security "View and Update Personal Information" on-line service. Since your privacy is very important to us, we will confirm your identity by matching the information you submit on the log-in page with the information we already have in our Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security program records.
Your personal information will be held in the following Service Canada Personal Information Banks: HRDC PPU 146, HRDC PPU 140, HRDC PPU 116 and HRDC PPU 390. Your personal information will be retained for the period of time required by the Canada Pension Plan and the Old Age Security Acts.
The information you provide is protected under the Privacy Act, which states that you have the right to see your personal information and request changes to incorrect information. Instructions for obtaining this information are outlined in the government publication InfoSource.
