Jackie Torrens
Jackie joins us weekly with an offbeat look at the news, and the people who make it.
Jackie Torrens is a writer and actor from the east coast. Her critically acclaimed plays include Tales From The Glockenspiel That Is My Heart, Strange Antiques and Fables. Her play, Georama, premiered at the National Arts Center and another play, Live! Nude! Animal!, which she also starred in, was filmed for the Bravo! Channel.
Several of her plays have been nominated for Robert Merritt awards, which celebrate excellence in Nova Scotia theatre. She has been nominated for a Gemini for her writing work on the hit series Trailer Park Boys. As well, she has won two Geminis for her acting work as secretary Wanda Mattice on CBC's Made In Canada.
