CHRISTMAS EVE ON MAINSTREET

Christmas is a time for family. That's why so many of us spend ridiculous amounts of time and money travelling home for the holidays. For the lucky ones, the trip goes smoothly and there are plenty of picture-perfect moments. For others, bad weather, cancelled flights and treacherous roads make it a memorable journey for all the wrong reasons. On Christmas Eve this year, Elizabeth Logan will be hosting a special edition of Mainstreet. In preparation for the big show, we would like to hear your most memorable "I'll be home for Christmas" stories -- the highlights and the lowlights. Call talkback: 420-4488 or 1-888-686-6246. We want to hear your stories from start to finish... and please add a song request too! We'll play your stories and musical selections on air. Tune into Mainstreet this Christmas Eve between 3:30 pm and 6 pm on CBC Radio One.
Talk to us. We want to know what you think about the stories we bring you on Mainstreet. If you have a comment or a story idea, get in touch. Call Talkback at 420-4488 or 1-800-686-6246. Or email us.

Chat with Municipal Reporter Pam Berman - Lost and Found

Everyone knows this gag - put a twenty dollar bill on the sidewalk and see how many people pocket it - rather than turn it in. But what about a BAG full of money? Or even two? Municipal Reporter Pam Berman tells a story about money lost - and money returned. Click on this link to hear more.

Chat with Legislature Reporter Jean Laroche - Ernie Fage Conviction

Ernie Fage walked into court a former cabinet minister and left a convicted criminal. A judge found him guilty of leaving the scene of an accident. He had a rear-end collision after celebrating the end of the Fall sitting in a bar last year. Fage told the court he had good reason to leave before police arrived but the judge rejected his defense. Legislature Reporter Jean Laroche sat through all the testimony. He was in court for the ruling and delivered this report on Mainstreet. Click on this link to hear more.
