Canada in Afghanistan: Portraits of Fallen Soldiers

Canada in Afghanistan:
Portraits of Fallen Soldiers
CBC News | Dec. 14, 2006

The numbers are familiar. And so are some of the names. 44 Canadian soldiers killed while serving in Afghanistan. The largest loss of life since the Korean War.

But behind the numbers, behind the names in the news, are the stories of the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice. And the stories of the loved ones left behind.

To pay tribute to these men and women, CBC News has prepared portraits of each of the soldiers as told through the voices of their families.
