Canada Day CBC People's Choice Awards - Poster Challenge 2006
 

Every year, hundreds of Manitoba school students submit their posters to the Canada Day Poster Challenge, a contest held across Canada. The students use their imaginations to create colourful and original posters that clearly interpret and reflect a specific poster challenge theme.

The theme chosen for the Canada Day Poster Challenge 2006 was "Images of
Canada
" Show us Canada Through Your Eyes!

Congratulations to all artists who entered their work in the poster challenge. The first place overall winner Julianna Rhymer will represent Manitoba in Ottawa on Canada Day as the personal guest of the Minister of Canadian Heritage.

CBC is once again presenting the CBC People's Choice Awards This was your chance to vote for your favourite posters from the 8 honourable mentions chosen by the Celebrate Canada Committee for Manitoba.

The votes are in! The 2006 CBC People's Choice Awards are:

Age category 5-8
First place winner: Max Kelly.

Age category 9-11
First place winner: Ashley-Marie Wilwand.

Age category 12-14
First place winner: Rebecca Pauls.

Age category 15-18
First place winner: Bridget Penny.

Winners of the CBC People's Choice Awards will receive a CBC Manitoba prize pack and will also be honoured alongside the provincial winner at the Canada Day Poster Challenge reception to be held on May 11, 2006.
