Have Star Architects Gone Too Far?

Architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the maker of such masterpieces as the Fallingwater house, said if a building didn't leak, then the design wasn't pushing the envelop. Former Boston University president John Silber argues in his new book Architecture of the Absurd that contemporary "starchitects" are disfiguring the practical art of building buildings ... on time, on budget and leak-free.

Campaign for Jamie Oliver

James Trevor Oliver, M.B.E. - a.k.a. The Naked Chef - arrived in Canada this week after a four-year absence to promote his TV series "Jamie's Chef " and his new book " Cook with Jamie."

Q pressed Jamie about bringing his show - and one of his Fifteen restaurants - to Canada. (We are, as it turns out, one of his “top three” countries, along with The Netherlands and Australia.) Jamie started Fifteen in London to provide training opportunities for underprivileged folks to become pro chefs. So will Jamie open a Fifteen in Canada? Sure, he says. He just needs an investment of a couple of million dollars.... Anyone? Anyone?
