VAC's Responsibility to the Canadian Forces
Veterans Affairs Canada's responsibility to Canadian Forces (CF) members is to support them in applying for a disability pension. If a member was healthy when he or she was deployed to Croatia or any other Special Duty Area and returned home to Canada with a medical disability, he or she should make an application for a disability pension.

Veterans Review and Appeal Board Canada
The Veterans Review and Appeal Board provides two levels of appeal on disability pension applications and the final level of appeal on allowance decisions. The Board's objective is to ensure Veterans, Canadian Forces personnel, Royal Canadian Mounted Police members, certain civilians, and/or their respective dependants receive the disability pensions and benefits to which they are entitled.
