The Department of Social Development is one of the largest departments in the New Brunswick government. We have approximately 1,600 employees and a budget of more than $787 million. Every day we provide more than 110,000 services, touching the lives of nearly every citizen.

We help:

• abused and neglected children and adults,
  
• seniors and persons with disabilities who require long-term care and nursing home services,
  
• families and individuals in need of social assistance and affordable housing,
