Student Loans and Grants for Residents of Quebec, Nunavut, or the Northwest Territories.

Quebec, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut have chosen not to participate in the Canada Student Loans Program. Instead, under the Canada Student Financial Assistance Act, they receive transfer payments from the federal government (a total of about $160 million for 2005–06). These jurisdictions operate their own student assistance plans.

Students in these jurisdictions are not eligible for Canada Student Loans, Canada Access Grants, or Canada Study Grants.

If you are a resident of  Nunavut, the  Northwest Territories or Quebec, contact your  Student Assistance Office  for information about the financial assistance programs, grants, or bursaries for which your are eligible.
