Radiohead will ring in the new year with an online concert celebrating the CD and vinyl release of its newest album In Rainbows, which had its debut on the internet in October.

Thom Yorke announced a New Year's Eve web broadcast of a concert in a posting on the Radiohead website on Wednesday.
Calling the performance "a wee celebration of the release of the physical manifestation of In Rainbows," Yorke announced that the band "will be broadcasting a pre-recording of some songs and other bits on New Year's Eve."
The concert will be broadcast on the band's site radiohead.tv beginning at midnight in the U.K.
Current TV, the network started by Nobel Peace Prize-winner Al Gore that focuses on user-generated content, will also broadcast the concert on its cable and satellite channel as well as stream it via the Current website.
In Rainbows hits U.K. stores on Dec. 31 and North American stores Jan. 1.
The innovative and influential rock band stunned the music world when it decided to introduce In Rainbows as a digital download available for whatever price fans decided to pay.
Though they did not pioneer this distribution method, the U.K. band has been the most prominent act to do so.
About a month after the album's online release, a consumer research firm announced that more than 60 per cent of those who downloaded In Rainbows did so for free. Those who did pay offered an average amount of $6 for the download.
Radiohead subsequently announced that the physical version of the album would be available in the new year.
