Message to On-Line Customs Brokers - 19 DEC 2007 – Steel Permit Cancellations

New Cancellation Procedures for Steel Commodities

Brokers are advised that effective immediately all requests for cancellation of permits for RELEASED steel shipments are to be submitted by facsimile on the attached Request for Steel Cancellation form.

Completed cancellation request form can be transmitted by facsimile to (613) 995-5137 including a copy of the B3 document - Canada Customs Coding Form and the B2 document (if applicable) Canada Customs - Adjustment Request.

Note: Failure to provide the Steel Cancellation form and the Customs documents will result in delaying the cancellation request.

PLEASE NOTE that this form is to be used for released steel shipments only. Cancellation requests for non-released steel shipment are to be requested on-line using the Export and Import Controls System.
