"The iPod music player gave the company a big hit but it was only with the growth of the iTunes online store that Apple buried its competitors and made CDs look downright old fashioned.

With the launch of a new online movie rental service Tuesday, CEO Steve Jobs gave video iPod and Mac users the content he hopes will do the same to DVDs."
