"ArtsSmarts is the largest education initiative in Canada dedicated to improving the lives and learning capacity of Canadian children by injecting arts into their academic programs."

"Since 1998, ArtsSmarts initiatives have reached more than 180,000 young people in over 1,050 schools across Canada. With multi-million dollar funding from The J. W. McConnell Family Foundation, ArtsSmarts provides seed capital to a wide range of locally initiated arts and education ventures, allowing them to grow and build the momentum they need to attract sustainable funding.

ArtsSmarts is building strategic, multi-level partnerships at the regional, provincial and national levels. Artists working with teachers; school boards working with community and arts organizations; ministries of culture working with ministries of education; these numerous and wide-ranging partnerships are helping to re-engineer the delivery of core curricula in public schools across the country."
