"A review of Canada Council internal data on individual artist grant applications and awards was conducted, and discussion groups were held across the country with recipients of Canada Council individual artist grants. The project is part of the Council's ongoing efforts to improve the quality of its services to artists and creators, to ensure that it has a full and up-to-date understanding of the role of grants to individual artists in both its overall program structure and the program structures of the individual artistic disciplines, and to provide assurances to its stakeholders that it is making the most effective and efficient use of its grant funds. This report presents the results of the study."
