"Women in Textile Art Organization was established in 1997 by Pilar Tobon, it begun its activities at the Latin-American Art Museum of Miami; where Tobon, was the only representative of the museum`s directive committee, to be a Textile Artist and a textile artist manager."

"WTA maintains a collection of small format artworks, which has been donated by 107 artists from 37 countries. WTA uses this collection to promote textile art cultural awareness, displaying it constantly in galleries, museums, universities, and other cultural centers. Consequently, artists that have donated artworks have introduced themselves, and some of them, have been contacted to display their work at their own individual exhibits; through our organization. Artists who have participated in our exhibits, and want to donate an artwork, may do so by contacting our president Pilar Tobon."
