"OSEA, as a subject association, is a recognized affiliate of the Ontario Teachers Federation, and maintains ties with the Canadian Society for Education Through Art (CSEA), the International Society for Education through Art (INSEA), and the Arts Education Council of Ontario (AECO). OSEA functions in an advisory role with the Ministry of Education and Training, faculties of education and other government agencies. Since it inception in 1942, OSEA has served educators across the province by providing leadership in the development and promotion of quality visual arts education at all levels. Members of OSEA include elementary and secondary teachers, professional artists and designers, art education consultants and administrators, university and college instructors, gallery and museum educators, and government representatives."
