"From its inception, ASC recognized that developing and communicating industry standards for responsible advertising is only one facet of effective self-regulation. Equally important is the need for the advertising industry, through ASC, to demonstrate to the public its commitment to the self-regulatory process. A key component of this demonstration is two-way communication with consumers – to educate them about the industry’s self-regulatory initiatives, and to respond to their concerns."
