"The Alliance of Artists Communities is the only national service organization for the field of artists communities. We provide many services to our members, as well as represent the field at large. Our activities include: Providing networking opportunities to our members, through conferences and regional meetings, Conducting and publishing research relevant to the field, Providing professional development to our members, through consultations, workshops, and training seminars, as well as through peer mentoring which matches established leaders with emerging program directors, Providing information on artists; communities to artists, students, and others, through the publication of our Directory, our searchable website, and our newsletter, Advocating on behalf of the field of artists; communities and creative environments in general, to funders, policymakers, researchers, and the public."
