"Created in 1990 under the Film Development Corporation Act, the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation (NSFDC) is a Provincial Crown Corporation reporting to the Minister of Economic Development. A Board of Directors, appointed by the Governor in Council, directs the Corporation's activities.
The Corporation's core business activities include:
The Programs Department administers Loan, Investment, Partnerships in Training, Travel Assistance and Sponsorship programs designed to support the growth and development of Nova Scotia's film & television industry.
The Locations & Marketing Department promotes the province as a film location in the global marketplace and provides initial production support to producers who are guests in the province. The Department fulfills a community liaison role for the industry and general public and coordinates the Corporation's communication activities."
