"The CIFVF provides financial assistance to independent producers for the development and production of English and French language films or videos and interactive digital new media programs in a variety of subject areas using the formats of documentary, docu-drama, drama and animation to inform, educate and/or instruct.
The CIFVF is the only national organization in Canada working to support the program production sector that specializes in low cost Canadian educational/ informational/ documentary programming. Our data base comprises 3,000 producers from all parts of Canada, about 99 % of whom have applied for funding in the ten years of the Fund's existence."
