"The 24 Hour Museum is an independent charity funded by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) through Resource, the Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries. Our aim is to promote UK museums galleries and heritage attractions and develop new audiences. The site was launched in 1999 as a partnership project between mda (museum documentation association) and the Campaign for Museums."
