"The APFTQ represents and defends the interests of its members with governments and film- and television-related organizations, both federal and provincial.

The APFTQ offers its members consulting services on industrial relations, copyright, financing and taxation.

The APFTQ, on behalf of the independent production sector, negotiates all collective agreements with artists’ associations and technicians’ unions recognized under the Act respecting the Professional Status and Conditions of Engagement of Performing, Recording and Film Artists.

The APFTQ intervenes on international issues such as coproduction, copyright and cultural diversity."
