"Federal and provincial-territorial data are collected from all known culture departments and agencies rather than from a sample. Some of the provinces and territories did not provide data on spending on school, university and college libraries. Statistics Canada estimated these data.

The survey results do not include data from the Government of Nunavut, which failed to respond to the survey. The missing information is estimated at 0.1% of the total provincial and territorial cultural budget and will have a minor impact on data comparability at the national level."
