The European Heritage Network (HEREIN)

"The European Heritage Network (HEREIN) is a permanent information system of the Council of Europe linking European governmental departments responsible for cultural heritage conservation."

"The site contains information on the various aspects of heritage policy: identification, inventories, protection, conservation, financing, integrated conservation strategies with a view to sustainable development, dissemination and awareness-raising, innovation centres and digital recording of cultural assets.

Countries have also requested that the Network be used as an instrument for following the UNESCO World Heritage Convention in Europe. As a result, a new chapter on World Heritage has been added to the databank."
