"The Association for Canadian Studies (ACS) is the only national organization exclusively dedicated to the promotion of research, teaching and publications on Canada. Founded in 1973 at Queen's University, Kingston, the ACS is a non-profit organization with individual and institutional members. The Association is most active at the post-secondary (college and university) level but maintains ties with all sectors of education. The ACS is particularly interested in multidisciplinary perspectives and encourages exchanges and collaboration between different programmes, centres, groups, institutes, and organizations working in the field of Canadian Studies. A founding member of the International Council for Canadian Studies, the ACS is also a member association of the Humanities and Social Sciences Federation of Canada. The ACS is a registered charity and will issue official tax receipts for donations. It is also incorporated at the federal level as a non-profit organization."
