Julianna Priskin, Ph.D, is an Associate Professor at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) as well as an independent research consultant. She has extensive experience in eco-tourism and sustainable tourism development research.
Ms. Priskin holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Geography from the University of Western Australia, where her research included tourism planning and development according to sustainable development principles as well as the environmental impact of tourism, and the planning and management of protected areas. Since being at the Université du Québec à Montréal, she has been involved with various research projects, including the Réseau de veille en tourisme. (http://www.veilletourisme.ca)
Ms. Priskin has published several papers and articles in her area of expertise. Her current work includes a project for Tourisme Québec on improving economic and social impacts of sustainable tourism development in the province’s regions.
