A recent presenter at the Observatory’s latest In Focus Speakers Series, Paul Théberge is Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair at the Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture at Carleton University, Ottawa. He has published widely on music, technology and culture and is the author of Any Sound You Can Imagine: Making Music/Consuming Technology (Wesleyan University Press). His current research is concerned with how the music industry, independent musicians and producers, and music fans are adapting to the new possibilities and demands of the Internet. He has published articles on the uses of sound in film, television and multimedia, including sound and music in the films of David Cronenberg.
