Max Valiquette is one of North America’s foremost experts on youth culture and marketing. He is founder and President of Youthography (www.youthography.com), the top North American youth marketing and research firm, as well as a leading media authority on all aspects of youth culture. He is an internationally recognized speaker on popular culture and youth marketing, and a published author on the same subjects. In the spring of 2007, Max was a participant in the New Normal Experts Roundtable, hosted by the Canadian Cultural Observatory and the Culture and Technology Taskforce with the Department of Canadian Heritage.
Max was recently named one of Canada’s most influential marketers by Marketing Magazine, and he sits on the advisory board of Mediacs, a youth media literacy advocacy group. In addition to the Technology Roundtable, he has participated in numerous industry panels, including the Association for Media Literacy’s “Marketing to Teens: Teaching and Parenting the iGeneration” panel and the Canadian Media Directors Council’s “Reaching the Young Adult” panel. He was a featured panelist at this year’s “Canada 2020” conference.

Youthography is a pioneering youth-focused communications agency, with a comprehensive offering of research, advertising and marketing services built around the youth market. Over the course of his career Max has worked on some of the biggest, most recognized youth brands in the world: Nike, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, MTV, Nintendo, and a host of others.

Max has also made a name for himself as a television host, pundit, and media personality. He was the host of TVOntario’s VoxTalk, a weekly youth-oriented current affairs show. As well, he is a frequent contributor to the internationally syndicated television programs “Listed” and “Evolution”. He has guest-hosted the BNN’s daily business show “SqueezePlay,” and his expertise has lead him to frequent media appearances, in forums as far-ranging as The Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio and dozens of other television, radio, print and web outlets.

Max’s varied expertise makes him one of the most sought-after public speakers on youth and pop culture available today. As a prominent lecturer on the topic of youth culture he has made hundreds of speeches and presentations to tens of thousands of audience members in regards to connecting to young people, trends in youth culture and what brands and organizations of all stripes must know to reach a young target audience. His speaking engagements have included being a four-time chairperson of Strategy Magazine’s “Understanding Youth” Conference as well as the Keynote speaker and lead presenter for Marketing Magazine’s “Youth Access” series. He has also written numerous articles for trade journals and industry publications.
