Opportunities and Challenges in the Development of
Canadian Arts and Health
Date: Thursday, March 1, 2007, 1:30 - 3:00 pm Location: Department of Canadian Heritage, Knowledge Centre, 2nd Floor, 15 Eddy, Gatineau, QC
What are the benefits of arts and health on Canadian individuals and communities? How can the distinct paradigms of arts and health disciplines be bridged to create interdisciplinary methodologies and protocols? Pamela Brett-McLean, Co-Director of the Arts & Humanities in Health & Medicine Program, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, and Susan Pointe, Art Advisor at the Friends of University Hospitals, discuss the state of the Canadian arts and health field with a special emphasis on the impact of arts and health on aging populations and the use of the arts in medical facilities and medical humanities. A discussion period will follow this presentation, which is made possible with the generous support of the Policy Research Group (PRG).
