Digital Transformations within the Book Publishing and Sound Recording Industries
Date: Thursday, January 11, 2007, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.
Location: Department of Canadian Heritage, Knowledge Centre, 2nd Floor, 15 Eddy, Gatineau, QC
How are new technologies radically transforming the cultural value chain within book publishing and sound recording? Dr. Rowland Lorimer, of the Canadian Centre for Studies in Publishing at Simon Fraser University, and Dr. Paul Théberge, Canada Research Chair in Music and Interdisciplinary Studies at Carleton University, discuss changes in the production-distribution-consumption model of both industries. A discussion period will follow this presentation, which is made possible with the generous support of the Policy Research Group (PRG).
