Arts and Youth: Canadian Youth Arts Programming and Policy

Amanda Coles, a PhD candidate (Comparative Public Policy) at McMaster University will explore existing and emerging trends in cultural policy programs to engage marginalized youth through culture with special attention paid to profiling the ArtReach program.
In response to Ms. Coles’ presentation, Alexis Andrew, Arts Promotion Officer at the Canada Council for the Arts, will discuss her recent work engaging young Canadians in a dialogue about key issues facing artists and arts audiences.
Cynthia White Thornley, Director General, Arts Policy Branch, will moderate this workshop.
