"The data used to estimate the direct impact of the music industry on the provincial economy stems from a variety of sources. Data concerning salaries, revenues and profits from song writing, performing, managing artists, booking concerts, selling albums (excluding retail), royalties, recording, distributing, producing, engineering albums, sound technician, teaching music (excluding teaching in schools and universities), promoting concerts and publishing music is derived from the survey that was administered for this study. Data concerning salaries and profits from professional arts organisations (for example the New Brunswick Symphony), community arts organisations and associations related to music is derived from the databases of the Arts Development Branch of the Culture and Sports Secretariat of New
Brunswick."
