"The association has 20 000 members in France, 2000 in the United States, & 95 local delegates (one for each French Department) It publishes a magazine to promotes the knowledge and protection of the historical architectural heritage as well as the training of craftsmen. The magazine is printed at 30 000 copies per issue.It offers free consulting services to members on fiscal issues, restoration, property security and insurance. The association also lobbies the administration for the preservation of old historical buildings and their surrounding. There is a committee for French parks and gardens (Comité des Parcs et Jardins de France CPJF) to promote remarkable gardens and a committee has been formed to advice members regarding security and protection again theft. The association actively contributes to the "Journées du Patrimoine" (the annual patrimony days). On these days old private houses, public buildings and other historical sites usually not accessible to the public are open to visitors. These usually occur on the first week end after the 15th of September."
