Studies & Reports 20 of 20
"In December of 1992, the then Minister of Communications (now Canadian Heritage) announced the creation of the Task Force on the Future of the Music Industry in Canada. The Task Force was established with the following mandate: To analyze and report on the impact of technological changes and trends on the Canadian sound recording industry over the next decade. The Task Force will discuss the consequences these new technologies will have on all aspects of the industry including production, marketing, distribution, consumption and retail activities. To examine current governmental policies and legislation (e.g. the Copyright Act) to determine whether these can continue to respond to the needs of the industry over this period. To formulate, where advisable, specific policy recommendations to the Minister to ensure the long-term viability of the Canadian music industry."
