ARTWORKS - Artistic Services in the Third Sector

"Summary of the study on artistic services in the third sector, mainly connected with the income situation of artists in Austria."

"ARTWORKS is very pleased to inform you about the summary / results of a study about artistic services in the third sector that had been carried out in the frame of "ARTWORKS - Artistic Services in the Third Sector", a project that has been implemented as part of the European Community Initiative EQUAL.

The goal of ARTWORKS, consisting of 12 partner organisations from all over Austria is, between September 2002 and February 2005, to develop measures for improving the often precarious employment and income situation of artists in Austria.

Thus, during the first project phase, two empirical studies for market and need analysis focussing on existing cooperation models between artists and the Third Sector have been conducted by the NPO Institute at the University of Vienna and Joanneum Research. The collaboration of these institutes made it possible, for the first time, to examine cooperation between artists and organisations in the Third Sector from two different perspectives.

The organizers of the project would like to share the results of the study with a wider public and anyone who could benefit from the results."
