Library Services

Library services for Alberta Environment are provided by the Alberta Government Library - Great West Life Site. This library also serves Alberta Sustainable Resource Development and Parks and Protected Areas (part of Alberta Tourism, Parks, Recreation and Culture). This site contains more than 60,000 books, reports, government documents, videos, maps, periodicals, and annual reports pertaining to environmentally related topics. Resources not included in the catalogue are a collection of environmental legislation and the United States Environmental Protection Agency microfiche collection (1970-1994).

The library is a depository for Alberta Environment, Alberta Sustainable Resource Development, and Parks and Protected Areas publications. Two copies of all department reports, newsletters and other publications are catalogued and kept in the library collection for lending purposes.

Other specialized resources include a calendar of designated events and conference list listing events related to the environment.

Open: 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (except statutory holidays), for use by all Albertans.
