Few in society are immune to the harmful effects of substance abuse and gambling problems. Whether it be a difficulty that is felt personally, or that of a family member or friend, alcohol, other drug and gambling problems are a challenge that most people will face at one time or another. The Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission is responsible for helping Albertans deal with these problems. If you would like to help us in this work, the following options for gifts are available:

The AADAC Memorial Trust Fund

The AADAC Memorial Trust fund was established in response to public interest in providing support to the Commission by way of memorial gifts. These funds are used to support initiatives not otherwise funded through AADAC Programs and Services. Any administration costs incurred are paid by AADAC.

  1. Generally, gifts go directly to special Memorial Trust Fund Projects, such as special education or research activities.
  2. To honour the memory of Barb Tarbox for her dedication and to continue her work, AADAC will accept designated donations made in Barb Tarbox's name, in accordance with Barb's wishes. All gifts will be used to fund the annual Barb Tarbox Awards of Excellence (including a $2500 Youth Scholarship) and other tobacco prevention, cessation and information/public awareness initiatives directed at children and youth.

AADAC Programs and Services

Any funds donated to AADAC programs will be used to purchase special items or materials that will directly help those most in need.
