The ASC reviews prospectuses of companies wishing to raise capital in Alberta and, once the final prospectus has been accepted, issues a receipt indicating the company has filed all the appropriate information and is able to distribute securities to the Alberta marketplace.
Senior issuers can sometimes file a short-form prospectus. To remain eligible to file a short-form prospectus, these companies must file a renewal Annual Information Form (AIF) along with other continuous disclosure documents, to ensure there is current information in the marketplace for investors.
