Natural Gas Rebate Program - Frequently Asked Questions

Need more clarification on the natural gas rebate program created to offset high gas costs in the winter season? This section provides answers to frequently asked questions.

Consumers that use propane, kerosene and heating oil may be eligible for rebates in the same months that natural gas consumers receive rebates.

Starting April 1, 2006, consumers of other fuels (propane, heating oil, kerosene) will be able to choose an alternate methodology for determining their rebates.

Rebate Application Forms

The rebate will appear automatically on your natural gas bill for most consumers. Certain natural gas consumers need to apply for the rebate, including:
- Commercial consumers that use over 5,000 GJ of natural gas in a month,
- large industrial consumers who buy directly from producers and marketers,
- users of propane, kerosene and home heating oil, and in some cases, electricity, 
- agriculture irrigators, grain dryers, forage dehydrators and commercial greenhouses.
