(CADDET) Energy Efficiency
CADDET stands for the Centre for the Analysis and Dissemination of Demonstrated Energy Technologies. It is an information centre currently sponsored by twelve member countries. CADDET EE collects, analyses and enhances the international exchange of impartial information on new, cost-effective, energy-saving technologies.

Canadian Energy Efficiency Alliance
This is a non-profit organization established in 1995 to promote the efficient use of energy in Canada. The Alliance draws its membership from across industry and across Canada. Its aim is to provide people with "easy access to information and resources related to energy efficiency". It focuses on "the design and energy professional but the Centre also includes general information on energy efficiency intended for use by all…".

Canadian Energy Efficiency Centre
This is a non-profit, member supported organization charged with promoting energy efficiency in Canada.

Community Energy Planning Home Page
This is a B.C. Energy Aware Committee web site. Membership on the Committee includes representatives from B.C. Hydro, BC Gas, Centra Gas, Pacific Northern Gas, B.C. Transit, the Union of B.C. Municipalities, the Planning Institute of B.C. and the Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network, US Department of Energy
"Your comprehensive resource for DOE's energy efficiency and renewable energy information, plus access to more than 600 links and 80,000 documents."

Natural Resources Canada, Office of Energy Efficiency
The Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE) is "dedicated to keeping Canadians up to date on ways to save energy at home, at work and on the road". Check out the Office of Energy Efficiency's virtual library.


Renewable Energy

American Wind Energy Association
AWEA advocates "the development of wind energy as a reliable, environmentally superior energy alternative in the United States and around the world".

California Energy Commission
The Commission is California's primary energy policy and planning agency. Among other things, it promotes energy efficiency through appliance and building standards and develops energy technologies and supporting renewable energy.

Canadian Association For Renewable Energies
In 1997, the Canadian Association for Renewable Energies (CARE) started production of a daily electronic newsletter called 'Trends in Renewable Energies.' Early in 2001, CARE partnered with SolarAccess.com to expand the scope of news coverage in the renewables sector.

Canadian Renewable Energy and Sustainable Energy
This is part of the Independent Power Producers Society of Ontario's web site and contains information on producing and using energy "in the most effective and environmentally-friendly ways possible." IPPSO is a non-profit organization for the promotion of independent power, and has more than 400 members.

Canadian Renewable Fuels Association
This site has information on Ethanol and Biodiesel. The Canadian Renewable Fuels Association (CRFA) is a non-profit organization consisting of industry and environmental organizations and is "mandated to promote renewable bio-fuels for automotive transportation through consumer awareness and government liaison activities".

Canadian Wind Energy Association
CanWEA aims to "represent the wind energy community,… and to support the appropriate development and application of all aspects of wind energy".

Environment Canada's Green Lane
This part of the Environment Canada website describes the EcoLogo symbol as it applies to green power and describes green power sources.

J.P. Pinard Wind Energy Research
Pinard's work consists of pre-feasibility studies for wind energy potential in the north. It comprises installing and maintaining wind monitorin stations and collecting and analysing wind data.

Leading Edge Projects Inc.
John Maissan founded Leading Edge Projects Inc, based in Whitehorse, Yukon, to offer his expertise in wind and renewable energy projects, specializing in cold weather applications and icing condictions.

Moving on Sustainable Transportation
This program was designed to help Transport Canada and the Canadian organizations it works with, make sustainable transportation a reality.

Renewable Resource Data Center
The RReDC provides information on several types of renewable energy resources in the United States, in the form of publications, data, and maps. An extensive dictionary of renewable energy related terms is also provided. The RReDC is supported by the National Center for Photovoltaics (NCPV) and managed by the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

Solar Energy Society of Canada Inc.
SESCI's aim is to "advance the awareness, understanding and use of solar energy in Canada". It operates as a non-profit organization, with registered charitable status. SESCI is a national organization with seven chapters, or affiliates across Canada; in the Maritimes, Quebec, Toronto & Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and B.C.

Energy Efficiency & Buildings A Resource for BC’s Local Governments is available online at www.caee.ca.  The guide provides concrete examples of municipalities promoting energy efficiency through policy initiatives and operations. The guide also provides contacts for municipal staff that have implemented successful energy efficiency initiatives.

Canadian Institute for Energy Training
CIET is affiliated with The Institute of Energy (UK) and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), is a member of AEE - Southern Ontario Chapter and the Canadian Environment Industry Association, and is registered as an educational institution by Human Resources Development Canada. CIET provides training solutions to help reduce operating costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, cope with a competitive electrical power market and advance your career as an energy services professional.

This site has statistics on just about every aspect of energy in the U.S. It includes several different search mechanisms

International Energy Agency
The International Energy Agency, based in Paris, is an autonomous agency linked with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It has 25 member countries. IEA Member governments are committed to taking joint measures to meet oil supply emergencies. They have also agreed to share energy information, to co-ordinate their energy policies and to co-operate in the development of rational energy programmes.

Northern Climate Exchange
The goal of the Exchange is to document and disseminate research being done in the area of climate change. The Exchange is a partnership of the Yukon government, Canadian government and Yukon College.
