Job Experience Programs

The Government of Yukon Job Experience Programs Policy covers several employment opportunities for students. (The exception is the Head Start Program which is for people who receive social assistance.)

Summer employment programs for students in high school and post-secondary institutions, include:

Year-round employment through the Co-Operative Education Program, however, is for post-secondary students in co-op programs only.  Work terms are for a minimum of 12 weeks.  The Co-op program gives hiring preference to Yukon students.  Approved post-secondary co-op programs are listed by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education (http://www.cafce.ca/).

Jobs under all programs covered by the Job Experience Programs Policy, are identified by their program name in job postings, on the government web site and in recruitment advertising.  The terms of reference and conditions of hire vary from program to program.
