Regional Network

In creating a regional network, Services Québec's goal is to improve access to government services by bringing them closer to the population. This necessarily involves greater regional presence.

Establishment of the Services Québec network is underway. The first step in creating this network was to merge the Communication-Québec network, the registry offices of the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune and the service centres of the Société de l'assurance automobile. To complete its network, Services Québec signed an agreement with the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale for computer stations in certain local employment centres. Services Québec will rely heavily on these four solidly entrenched networks for its regional deployment.

Introduction of this network is proceeding apace. The following offices were opened in 2006:

Spring 2006: 10 access points (Cabano, Chandler, Chibougamau, East Angus, Gatineau – Aylmer), Havre-Saint-Pierre, Magog, Plessisville, Pointe-à-la-Croix, Senneterre) and 5 service points (Château-Richer, Cookshire, Sainte-Julie, Sherbrooke, Stanstead).

Fall 2006: 11 access points (Asbestos, Forestville, Gatineau – Buckingham, La Pocatière, Lac-Etchemin, Mont-Joli, Repentigny, Sainte-Adèle, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Sainte-Thècle, Saint-Rémi), 15 service points (Amos, Beauceville, Beauharnois, Bedford, Cap-Santé, Lac-Brome, L’Assomption, Louiseville, Marieville, Sainte-Martine, Saint-Eustache, Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Saint-Pascal, Saint-Raphaël, Vaudreuil-Dorion) and 3 service centres (Lévis, Saguenay – Jonquière, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu).
