Small Business BC - Small Business BC ArticlesKUDOS - BizMapBC is Awarded Community Project of the YearBizMapBC was recently awarded the EDABC / Bank of Montreal "Community Project of the Year" Award for BC at the Economic Development Association of BC annual conference. BizMapBC was reviewed by economic development professionals from across the province, along with representatives from the national association as well as the Community Futures Development Association of BC, and was selected as the best community project from 8 nominations. BizMapBC was also given an "Honourable Mention" for the Kinder Morgan award for the Economic Development by the Business Improvement Areas of BC. This award is given to the project that creates or enhances economic development in a Business Improvement Area. BizMapBC is a set of Business Improvement Area (BIA) profiles for eight commercial districts and their neighborhood market areas in the City of Vancouver. The profiles, available in hard copy and on-line, are an invaluable tool to help BIA’s, businesses, residents, city council and staff in planning and decision making. BizMapBC is an initiative made possible with support from the Vancouver Economic Development Commission, Small Business BC, the City of Vancouver , and Western Economic Diversification Canada. |
