Small Business BC CEO, Tara Gilbert, explains that the Small Biz Education Centre was inspired by the many thousands of BC entrepreneurs who have accessed SBBC since its inception in 1993. Gilbert notes the Centre is part of SBBC’s vision to grow and expand its services to B.C’s thriving small business community.

“Up until now SBBC has focused primarily on new businesses,” states Gilbert. “Our growing client base indicated a need for seminars, workshops and services to assist and guide small business owners looking to expand established businesses.” Gilbert says the new Small Biz Education Centre allows SBBC to increase its comprehensive services for new and established entrepreneurs.  “SBBC can now offer more in-depth workshops led by industry professionals on such topics as business law, accounting, and income tax.”
Services will include video conference facilities, facility rentals, networking opportunities and business coaching.

Jennifer Reid, Manager of the Small Biz Education Centre adds “The mission of the Centre is to support our clients in their business growth. Our seminars are delivered by industry professionals many of which are small business owners themselves who understand the struggles and celebrations of building a business” Reid notes that SBBC will also launch the new branding for both the Centre and the Small Biz Education website, www.smallbizeducation.ca
