Annual Yukon Campground Permits Now Easier To Buy
WHITEHORSE - Environment Minister Dennis Fentie is pleased to announce the expansion for the availability of its Yukon resident annual campground permits.
Beginning this camping season, Yukon residents will be able to purchase their $50 annual campground permit from private vendors in Whitehorse and the communities, in addition to the usual government outlets.
"We recognize that Yukoners lead busy lives," Fentie said. "Expanding the number of vendors and making the permits available during evenings and weekends will save time and be more convenient for camping enthusiasts."
Permits will now be available at many of the stores and businesses that sell Yukon angling licences. They include outlets in Whitehorse, Watson Lake, Teslin, Tagish, Swift River, Ross River, Pelly Crossing, Marsh Lake, Johnson’s Crossing, Haines Junction, Destruction Bay, Dawson City, Carmacks and Carcross, and Skagway, Alaska.
The permits will continue to be available from territorial agents, Environment Yukon offices in the communities, the Yukon Housing Corporation office in Carmacks, the RCMP detachment in Pelly Crossing, and from campground attendants and parks officers.
Yukon residents are required to show their blue Yukon Health Care Insurance card to prove residency at time of purchase. There is no charge for Yukon seniors 65 and over.
