It is recommended that you set aside at least
one full day to visit the Fortress. With over 50
buildings and covering a 12-acre area, the
Fortress is large. Be sure to plan enough time
to truly appreciate and enjoy this remarkable
place.

Seasonal hours and services at reconstructed site.
Groups may make arrangements for after-hours access and services through the Fortress of Louisbourg Volunteers (fee charged); call (902) 733-3548.
Hours of Operation:
May/Oct. 16-31: access to site by guided tour only; tours depart Visitor Recepton Centre at 10 am and 2 pm in English, 1 pm in French; no animation or services
June and Sept.: 9:30 am-5 pm; full programs and services
July and August: 9 am-6 pm; full animation, programs and services
Oct. 1-15: 9:30 am-5 pm: reduced animation, some services
Nov. 1-April 30: Site officially closed; advance arrangements required
