Program staff will review and record the application in a database. This database helps keep track of applications to ensure thay are handled as quickly and accurately as possible. A letter is sent confirming receipt of the application. It may also ask for anything missed on the application. Please contact the program's office if you do not get this letter within two or three weeks. 

The program first confirms eligibility for the program. If an applicant is eligible, then the injuries are verified and amount of benefits are calculated. The program uses information obtained from the police services, doctors, hospitals, etc. to make decisions. All decisions are made in writing. The program does not give out decision information by telephone as it is unable to confirm a caller's identity.
