CELEBRATING B.C. MINING WEEK
Since 2001 mining in B.C. has enjoyed unprecedented growth, creating jobs and supporting investments in health, education and other important government programs. To help fill the estimated 8,500 new mining jobs by 2010, the Province has committed $7.5 million to expand faculty and increase student spaces at the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering at UBC.

B.C. GOVERNMENT WINS GIFT TO THE EARTH AWARD
Premier Gordon Campbell talks about the "Gift to the Earth" award presented to the Province of British Columbia by the World Wildlife Fund for an agreement reached in 2006 to protect 1.8 million hectares of wilderness and wildlife habitat in B.C.'s North Coast and Central Coast region.

BUILDING THE HYDROGEN HIGHWAY
Premier Gordon Campbell talks about the Province's commitment of an additional $45 million to the next phase of the Hydrogen Highway, which will see 20 hydrogen buses running in Whistler by the end of 2009.
